Multiple writ petitions and writ appeals were filed before the High Court of Karnataka challenging the government order dated 12.08.2008 which handed over the administration of Sri Mahabaleshwara Temple at Gokarna to Sri Ramachandrapura Mutt. These cases were clubbed together and heard by a Division Bench.
