The petitioner, Murthy, was serving as Chief Officer of Hanur Town Municipal Council, Chamarajanagara District. By an order dated 23.12.2021 (Annexure-A), the State Government transferred him and posted respondent No.6, Parashivaiah, in his place. The petitioner was directed to report to the competent authority for obtaining a posting order. The petitioner filed a writ petition under Articles 226 and 227 of the Constitution of India challenging the transfer order.
