The petitioner, Reshu Singh, an Assistant Professor at Mumbadevi Adarsh Sanskrit Mahavidyalay, challenged orders dated 30/10/2023 and a letter dated 23/11/2023 by filing a writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution. She sought a writ of certiorari to quash these orders and a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to accommodate her at the Mumbai campus of Central Sanskrit University and pay her emoluments from November 2023 onwards. The respondents included the Union of India, the Central Sanskrit University, and the management of the college. The matter was heard by a division bench consisting of Justices Ravindra V. Ghuge and Ashwin D. Bhobe. The court issued rule and heard the petition finally with consent of the parties. The judgment was reserved on 6th May 2025 and pronounced on 25th June 2025.
